One thing about me…
I like to be dropped into the middle of a story where I have no clue what is happening. It adds mystery and fans the flames of curiosity when the world a story takes place in reveals itself gradually without explanation.
William Gibson is the master of this, in my humble opinion. So is Brandon Sanderson.
The universe Pandora takes place in, and the characters within, quickly expanded into something more than just a standalone tale. It became the backdrop, the framework, for several more stories. Shortly after finishing the first draft of Pandora, I found myself creating a fictional universe timeline. This quickly expanded into: character biographies, a concordance of terminology, and even drawings of the ships with detailed specs of decks, size, and crew manifests.
All that will be shared in due time.
But for now, my friends, Pandora will be your baptism by fire into the universe of the Interstellar Confederation.
